Curriculum Focus
Our part-time program delivers the same high-quality Montessori experience as our full-time offerings. Children engage in Practical Life, Sensorial exploration, Language development, early Mathematics, and Cultural Studies. Each child receives individualized learning tailored to their developmental stage.
Daily Routine
Children follow a calm, predictable rhythm with uninterrupted work periods, outdoor play, movement activities, and quiet reflection time. Even on a part-time schedule, your child experiences the full benefits of our prepared environment.
Classroom Experience
Our mixed-age classrooms create natural learning communities where younger children observe and learn from older peers. Research shows that children who learn in mixed-age environments tend to show more kindness and cooperation, and those social benefits persist even years later. Every material sits within easy reach at child height, inviting independent exploration and discovery.
About Our Part-Time Montessori School Program
Finding the right balance between work, family time, and your child's education can feel overwhelming. Maybe you work from home a few days each week. Maybe your employer offers flexibility that traditional school schedules can't match. Maybe you want your child to experience the benefits of Montessori education without committing to full-time enrollment. We hear you, and we created this program with your family's unique needs in mind.
Our part-time Montessori school program provides all the nurturing care, expert guidance, and hands-on learning your child deserves on a schedule that actually works for you. Children develop independence, curiosity, and strong foundational skills through carefully designed activities that respect their natural learning rhythm. According to the American Montessori Society, Montessori education focuses on the whole child, fostering vigorous, self-motivated growth in cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
From 6 Weeks to 6 Years: Development Support for Every Stage
Every child moves through sensitive periods for learning, and our part-time program meets them exactly where they stand. Montessori argued that all children pass through these sensitive periods and each stage provides a window of opportunity to develop particular skills. Infants receive responsive care in calm, prepared spaces. Toddlers explore practical life activities that build coordination and confidence. Primary students dive deeper into language, mathematics, and cultural exploration.
Your child progresses at their own pace, guided by observation rather than arbitrary timelines. Whether they attend two days each week or drop in during school breaks, each visit builds upon previous experiences. This consistency within flexibility creates the safe, predictable environment children need to thrive.
How Flex Care Cards Work
We offer prepaid cards that you can purchase in advance, giving you reliable access to quality care when your schedule demands it. Purchase flex care cards for drop in daycare, reserve your spot ahead of time, and enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing your child learns in a safe, nurturing environment. This system eliminates the stress of last-minute care arrangements while giving you complete control over when and how often your child attends.
Building Independence Through Practical Life
Even our youngest students benefit from meaningful work that develops real skills. Preparing snacks, caring for plants, polishing objects, and organizing materials all strengthen fine motor coordination and concentration. These activities teach children that they can contribute to their community in purposeful ways. According to the American Montessori Society, concentration, confidence, collaboration and independence from an early age results in long-term positive outcomes on students' success.
Sensorial Exploration Supports Early Learning
Children refine how they experience the world through carefully designed sensorial materials. They explore dimensions, sort colors, match sounds, and discover patterns. This hands-on work builds the cognitive skills needed for mathematics, geometry, and scientific thinking. Each material isolates one specific quality, helping children focus deeply and make precise observations. Research shows that what surrounds children shapes them, and a wide range of conditions in their environments affect their developing brains and other biological systems.
Language Development Flourishes Naturally
Language grows through stories, songs, conversations, and phonetic games woven throughout each day. Children trace sandpaper letters, build words with moveable alphabets, and progress into writing and reading at their own pace. Studies have found that the teaching approach using the Montessori Curriculum has significant impact on early childhood literacy development, showing high success rates compared to conventional learning methods.
Research from the CDC emphasizes tracking developmental milestones, and our Montessori-trained guides observe each child carefully. A study published in The Journal of Neuroscience found that a child's brain grows incredibly quickly in the first two years of life, even doubling in size during the first year. This reminds us that early experiences shape how children learn and understand the world.
Mathematics Becomes Concrete and Clear
Our Montessori materials make abstract mathematical concepts tangible and accessible. Beads, number rods, and golden bead materials help children understand quantity, place value, and basic operations through direct manipulation. Because they see and feel math before it becomes abstract, children develop genuine number sense and lasting confidence. Studies have found that the Montessori approach has significant impact on early childhood mathematics development, showing high success rates compared to conventional learning methods.
Cultural Studies Open Windows to the World
Children naturally wonder about the world beyond their immediate experience. Puzzle maps, nature cards, simple experiments, and age-appropriate stories feed this curiosity. These lessons nurture respect, cultural appreciation, and early scientific thinking. According to the American Montessori Society, children cultivate a strong sense of curiosity within a nourishing environment that extends beyond the classroom. Children begin recognizing patterns, asking thoughtful questions, and making meaningful connections.

Why Families Trust Atlanta Montessori International School in Atlanta
Parents choose us because we combine academic excellence with genuine flexibility. We provide Montessori-trained guides who observe each child carefully and introduce lessons when readiness appears. Our prepared environments feel calm, beautiful, and purposeful.
Our approach follows the principles established by Maria Montessori, who believed that "an education capable of saving humanity involves the spiritual development of man, the enhancement of his value as an individual, and the preparation of young people to understand the times in which they live." We're guided by the standards of both the American Montessori Society and Association Montessori Internationale in delivering authentic Montessori education.
Studies have shown that students who attended Montessori schools showed brain activity that was more connected and more stable than that of students in traditional schools. According to the National Education Association, children who attend early education programs like ours tend to be less likely to repeat a grade, more prepared academically for later grades, and more likely to graduate from high school.
We offer open, supportive communication so you feel informed and connected to your child's journey. Our digital citizenship program extends learning into the modern world, preparing even our youngest students for tomorrow's challenges. Most importantly, we understand that every family's situation differs, and we work with you to create arrangements that truly serve your needs.

AMIS is a wonderful school. I had heard about Montessori Schools online and thankfully found one close to our home. The first thing I noticed was how welcoming the community was. The Class leads, head of school and everyone were always available, happy and most importantly friendly. We noticed a great difference in our daughter after a few months. She was more articulate and expressed interest in doing chores around the house. She would make our beds, ask to do dishes and clean up after herself. There were many activities she engaged in at school - flower making, arts and crafts and for international day she learnt about Indian culture. I like the fact that AMIS has snacks available for the kids as well as Fruit daily. I will suggest the school works on the cleanliness of the potty - I suggested the use of the class leads helping little children set up disposable seat liners when they have to go especially for the girls. My daughter caught molluscum contagious while at AMIS. The nap time cots and liners hygiene could also be improved. I suggest having each child purchase their own liner with a name tag when they join the school which they can take home each week with heir blankets to wash and return. Overall I would recommend the school to others. It is a good school.
